How is your BMI calculated?
BMI (Body Mass Index),
is a number calculated by taking your height in metres
(for example 5" 6' is 1.67 metres) then multiplying it
by itself to get metres squared (1.67 x 1.67 = 2.81 M2).
Then take your weight in kilograms (say 72Kg) and divide
it by your height squared figure, (72Kg / 2.81 M2 = BMI
= 25.6) (BMI = weight in kg divided by height in M2).
How can I reduce my BMI?
The best way to reduce your weight and BMI is to have a healthy balanced diet with lots of fresh fruit and vegetables and take part in regular exercise. |
